High octane trip a fast fundraiser for school

A three thousand mile run across Europe in a high performance sports car wheeled in money for Ayscoughfee Hall School in Spalding.
Scott Lewis and Dan Schofield took Scott's Audi RS6 on a cruise around Europe in the Cannonball Run.
Money will go to the Ayscoughfee Hall PTA fund, where Mr Lewis' children Sol (7) and Summer (4) are pupils. So far the tally is £3,500.
The object was to complete daily stages of a certain distance within the national speed limit.
But competitors did not know whether they would be in Milan, Madrid or Monaco from one day to the next because they did not find out their next destination until they came to the starting grid each day.
The journey started in Surrey with a cruise across the Channel and a first day trip through the Algarve, ending near Lisbon.
Day two saw a few laps around the Estoril track in Portugal, before the duo moved on to Merida and then Barcelona.
Scott, who lives at Station Street, Donington, said: "I had my stag do in Barcelona so it was nice to go back there."
The duo drove through mountain ranges in France before finally returning to Calais and then Brighton.
Scott added: "We would love to do it again but it's so exhausting, very high octane.
"The pupils at the school really embraced it and kept tabs on where we were, so not only was it a fantastic event for us but also an educational one for them."
