A DRIVER was taken into intensive care after a head-on collision on the A52 at Bridge End last night.

A blue Land Rover Discovery crashed into a grey Vauxhall Astra just after 7.30pm yesterday.

A 35-year-old Sibsey man was released from the Astra, which had been forced off the road, and was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital with a head injury.

His condition is reported as critical but stable.

A 27-year-old Spalding man, driving the Land Rover, and his passenger were not believed to have been injured as a result of the crash.

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene and was later re-opened at 1.10am this morning.
