A CROWLAND man was killed after being hit by a car on the outskirts of the town late last night.

A 58-year-old man, who was driving a silver Honda Prelude, reported that he had hit a pedestrian on Whipchicken Road at around 11.25pm last night.

Emergency services arrived at the scene and found the body of a 33-year-old man in a ditch by the side of the road, which is just off the A1073.

The driver was shocked but not injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area and saw the pedestrian or who saw the Honda Prelude in the time leading up to the accident.

Anyone with any information about this incident can contact Lincolnshire Police on 01522 558855.
