A CAR fire threatening to spread to nearby buildings was brought under control by the fire brigade.
The blaze at Little London was started by arsonists at around 12.45am on Sunday morning.

The Citroen Xantia was in a car park behind Domenic's fish and chip shop and the fire spread from the car to a neighbouring fence.

Shop owner Eric Fragale said: "I was called to the shop at about 1.30am to find the fire brigade putting out the car and fence.

"Luckily it didn't spread too far. It could have been much worse if the wind had been blowing in the other direction.

"It seems something was thrown through the window to set it alight."

Police have confirmed the fire was started deliberately and that an investigation is taking place.
