Traffic calming measures on a Cowbit road are being looked at after a series of complaints by a villager.
A year ago Ray Dent, of Mill Drove, put a gate on council land near his home without planning permission to stop cars driving too fast past his house but was ordered to remove it by South Holland District Council.

Since then he said he has not seen enough action from the district council and threatened to put the gate back up if the possibility of speed humps or other traffic calming measures did not materialise.

The council reacted by sending inspectors to Mill Drove to study the possibility of installing safety measures but warned Mr Dent that any work would be done only after it had consulted other residents likely to be affected.

Ken Bell, interim housing operational manager, said: "We have investigated what traffic calming measures may be available.

"We have a duty to consult all of the tenants and residents who might be affected by this, which will be completed as quickly as possible."
