LCVS are promoting some exciting new opportunities this month.

Would you like to volunteer at the wonderful Moulton Windmill? Mill Friends are looking for guides, who are happy climbing 96 steps, and helpers to work in the tea room and small shop.

Moulton Sea End Youth Club would love some volunteers to help either every Thursday evening or whenever you have time to spare.

Holbeach Pop-In Centre is looking for refreshment volunteers to help serve the drinks and help with the washing up at this important facility for the over 55s in Holbeach.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities or at looking at other opportunities we have available please call us on 01775 768833.

Are you a keen walker who would like to encourage others to start walking?

If so we would love to hear from you as we are seeking volunteers to train as walk leaders to support our work alongside LCVS’s South Holland health trainers in working with people to make small changes towards a healthier lifestyle.

One particular walk is held every other week from 11am until 11.30am and starts at Ascoughfee Gardens cafe in Spalding.

For details of dates please contact walk leader Suzanne on 07538 926603. The walk is open to all but is particularly suitable for people who would like a short walk and be able to walk at their own pace between loops of the gardens.

We would love to be able to offer this shorter walk on a regular weekly basis but are unable to, so if you would like to be trained as a walk leader to help please contact the Health Walks co-ordinator Ray Bowden on 07933 627011.

This walk is part of the district-wide walking for health scheme which offers a walk every day of the week in the area. The specific starting points and times for each walk can be found below:

Monday: Spalding at the South Holland Centre, 10.45am;

Tuesday: Donington at the Ruby Hunt Centre, 10.30am;

Wednesday: Crowland at the library, 10.45am;

Thursday: Holbeach at the library, 10.30am, AND Sutton St James at the village hall, 11am;

Friday: Long Sutton at the library, 10.45am.

For additional information about any of these walks, please contact Ray Bowden on 07933 627011.
