A HOLBEACH man put pedal power into raising £618 for charity.

Lee Cooper rode just over three laps of Rutland Water – 78 miles in total – in memory his best friend Danny Graves who died in a motor bike accident last year.

Joining him on the sponsored ride, in aid of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, was his father Dave.

Lee, of the Saracen’s Head, said: “It was a great day –

we had a couple of punctures along the way which set us back slightly, but we did the ride in seven-and-a-half hours.

“I would like to thank everyone for their support and generous donations and I’m now planning what I can do next year.”

The riders were met at the finish line by Lee’s mum and sister, and Danny’s mum, wife and two children.

Danny’s wife, Sarah, said: “They have done a fantastic job in raising so much money.”
