A JEEP to ride, talking tubes for long distance chats and games panels are among play items being installed in a £60,000 revamp at Spalding’s Ayscoughfee Gardens.
Ten of the very latest playground amusements will be unveiled when the refurbished play area opens in early April.
South Holland District Council deputy leader Coun Nick Worth said: “It is an exciting project designed for the youngest children, up to about eight years old.
“We think parents and grandparents will enjoy going to the new play area as much as the youngsters themselves.”
The district council has paid £50,000 for the scheme but equipment worth more than an extra £10,500 has been provided because the project was put out to competitive tender.
Contractors Hags Play Ltd are supplying the play items, which also include a trampoline set into the ground, swings, climbing apparatus, a roundabout and seesaw.
The council says all the items have been updated with the latest new looks and safety features.
