There are many good things that have always been true of fish and chips.

They are warming, filling and reasonably priced, so that even if there’s a family to feed it’s not going to bust the budget.

In National Chip Week there is something else to celebrate too: go to Jack’s Fish Bar in Holbeach Road, Spalding, with the voucher below and get regular fish and chips for £4 from today until Monday – normal price £5.

Organised by the Potato Council, Chip Week celebrates the freshness, good value and great tradition of Britain’s chippies – and inspires the nation to tuck into a tasty portion.

At Jack’s Fish Bar, run by owner Tirath “Terry” Tott and his family, customers know they are guaranteed traditional fish and chips as it’s what the business prides itself on.

Recessions may come and go, sales fluctuate up and down, but the Tott family business has been a constant for almost 12 years – and an award-winning one at that.

Terry’s son Sanj says: “Providing top quality and excellent customer service is always our goal, especially as times are still hard. We try to provide the best quality for a reasonable price and just because we have had great custom since we’ve started, this is a way for us to say thank you.”

With Terry in charge of the fryers, the shop is open every day of the week, even Sundays, from 11am to 2pm and 4pm to 9pm from Monday to Thursday, 11am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday, and 12noon to 9pm on Sunday.
