SOME of the fun moved indoors so rain could not stop play at Weston Hills Primary School summer fete.

Dance, music and karate displays were among the attractions keeping guests entertained as were a choir performance, the chance to have a ride in a vintage car or to scale a climbing wall.

There was also a variety of stalls and games and guests had the chance to have their photograph taken with Olympic torchbearer Stuart Davidson and his torch.

The event was organised by the school’s PTA committee and raised around £2,000, which pupils on the school council suggested should be spent on new computer equipment.

PTA chairman Nicky Franklin said: “The children, parents and friends of the school were very supportive of the summer fete and despite the weather it was a very successful event.
