Ayscoughfee Hall Museum in Spalding hosts a 1940s weekend this Saturday and Sunday (10.30am to 4pm).

As well as displays of memorabilia and vintage vehicles, the event will include demonstrations and a singer performing songs from the ’40s on Saturday.

A Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire flypast is also due to take place on Saturday.

Sunday’s 1940s themed events will culminate in the annual VJ parade to commemorate the end of war in Japan and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Members of Spalding Remembrance Association will parade from 2.30pm in the Peace Garden.

Entrance to the 1940s weekend is free.
