Who knew about sunken garden?

Patricia Ayton Smith, of Moulton, came across this wonderful image, possibly taken in the 1940s, of a sunken garden in Carter’s Park, Holbeach, on a collector’s stall at a railway exhibition.

Patricia says: “I spent many hours in Carter’s Park both as a child and, in more recent years, as a mother, and I have never heard of a sunken garden being in there.”
