Artists in South Holland are invited to a special workshop aimed at helping them to fundraise effectively and create financial strategies for their work.
The session called ‘Dodge the Shredder’ takes place at the South Holland Centre in Spalding on Thursday, February 25 and is being held as part of a partnership between South Holland District Council, a-n The Artists Information Company, The Collection and EMVAN.
Tickets for the event have gone on sale and anyone interested in attending is advised to book early.
Participants are asked to bring copies of a fundraising proposal they are working on and will be given valuable feedback with the aim of improving chances of success.
The session is aimed at practitioners with little to no experience of fundraising, or those who need a refresher course in current strategies.
The workshop will look at:
● * Approaching galleries and funding bodies with a great proposal;
● * Minimising rejection when applying for funding;
● * How to create a financial support strategy for your projects;
● * Writing about your practice effectively;
● * Finding out about the best sources of funding for your activities.
Dodge the Shredder is created, developed and delivered by Emilia Telese, an Italian artist working with performance, visual, site-specific and video art.
An artist who attended a previous Dodge the Shredder session in 2013 said: “I was delighted to attend such an excellent seminar about funding.
