Spalding and district’s The Pink Ladies support Breast Cancer Care

Have your say

Mel Roberts (pictured centre with cheque) and her ladies in pink raised a huge £1,227 for Breast Cancer Care this month.

Every year during Breast Cancer Awareness month Mel, helped by her friends collectively known as The Pink Ladies, organises and runs a charity event to raise money.

This year The Pink Ladies held two events, an afternoon at Moose Hall with members from Mel’s 55+ fitness classes, and an evening at Pinchbeck Village Hall with other fitness members, friends and family.

At both events the dress code was wear pink and enjoy fun fitness and games. At the evening event Fay Elliott donated her long, untreated hair to be made into a wig for a breast cancer sufferer. Fay’s hair was cut off by members of the audience who bid the highest amount, auction style, the cut supervised by Mel’s hairdresser Sarah Childs.
