It’s the big switch-on on Saturday, when Spalding town centre starts to sparkle ready for Christmas.

Santa, accompanied by Spalding Flower Queen Amy Harrison, will arrive in Spalding Market Place to switch on the lights at about 5pm.

However, there are activities going on all day, such as a School Choir Competition, a poetry competition, bands and other artists, pantomime characters strolling the streets and even a dog show!

The Sage restaurant will be transformed into a vintage tea room for the day, serving cream teas and Christmas treats – such as mulled wine – and a children’s competition.

The LIVES Santa 5k fun run/walk starts at 10am at the Sir Halley Stewart Field, with participants running around Spalding town centre to raise money for LIVES First Responders and another charity.
