Lime Shark causing a splash - listen here

ROCK group Lime Shark are making a splash with an appearance in a national music magazine later this month.

Tony Bodimead (on vocals and guitar), Paul 'Wizbat' Watson (bass and vocals), Tom Ellingworth, (guitar) and Mike Butler (drums) will feature in the Classic Rock Prog magazine on January 27.

The group, based in various locations across South Holland, describes itself as playing an interesting mixture of original rock using guitars with samples and keyboards triggered with bass pedals and sequencers, and says it is reminiscent of bands such as Rush, Muse, Audioslave and Pink Floyd.

The band has been gigging around the UK for five years and are also establishing fans in Brazil, Germany, Austria, Belgium and the USA, where their music and videos are creating a lot of interest.

The band goes back about six years when Tony moved from London to Lincolnshire and met up with Nick Moon.

The pair began writing songs together and as the band started to develop their own sound there were various line-up changes, especially in the drummer department.

Nick eventually left for personal reasons and Tony and bass player Paul were joined by Mike and Tom.

Their album The Money Clock was described as a "blistering discovery" by Geoff Barton of Classic Rock Magazine, while BBC Radio 6 said the group offered a new slant on 'technical rock'".

The group spend much of their time in Tony's home studio where the bands demos are made, and have released a new single called Stygian.
