Film at South Holland Centre goes 3D
FILM fans will be able to watch this Summer’s blockbuster films in top quality 3D when the South Holland Centre in Spalding installs new equipment in July.
The Centre is upgrading to digital cinema in line with the rest of the cinema industry, and part of this will include the technology to screen 3D films; so audiences can expect to see movies such as the new Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter films in 3D from the beginning of the Summer holidays onwards. The move to digital cinema also opens up other prospects such as screening live National Theatre performances from London, live opera and other major events.
“This development in the Centre’s film programme will provide all sorts of new experiences for our audiences. It is a bit sad to see the end of the traditional reels of cinema film arriving each week, but we are really looking forward to the exciting opportunities digital cinema will create” commented Sally Harrison, General Manager, South Holland Centre.
