The Priory Singers will be singing The Crucifixion by John Stainer on Easter Sunday afternoon, a repeat of the very first performance by the choir almost 40 years ago.

For this special performance the choir has issued an open invitation to anyone who knows the cantata to rehearse with them any Friday at Spalding United Reformed Church hall (7.30pm).

Conductor Malcolm Grief said: “Intending singers can register their interest, reserve a seat in the choir and brush away the cobwebs from their knowledge of the work at no charge.”

The performance itself will be at the URC on March 31 (3pm) with soloists John Moorman (tenor) and David Jones (bass).

Admission free, donations for the Agape Foodbank.
