Annie and Hairspray hit the stage
Polka Dot Academy has two sparkling shows planned for July.
Rising Stars and Shining Stars will be performing Annie Junior at the South Holland Centre on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5, at 2.30pm and 6pm.
Abandoned years ago on the doorstep of Miss Hannigan's New York City Orphanage, Annie is determined to be reunited with her parents.
In an hilarious series of adventures she foils Miss Hannigan's crafty schemes, befriends President Franklin Roosevelt and manages to find a new family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks and a lovable dog named Sandy.
After their phenomenal successful production of Les Miserables, the cast from Limelight Youth Theatre are back with the award winning musical Hairspray.
It's 1962, the '50s are out and change is in the air. Baltimore's Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, has only one passion – to dance.
She wins a spot on the local TV dance programme The Corny Collins Show and overnight is transformed from outsider to irrespressible teen celebrity.
But can a trendsetter in dance and fashion vanquish the programme's reigning princess, win the heart of heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a television show without denting her do? Only in Hairspray!
Hairspray performances will take place from Spalding Grammar School on Priory Road on Thursday, July 9 until July 12.
Shows start at 7pm (2.30pm matinees on July 11/12). The show on Sunday, July 12, starts at 6pm.
