DEAD OR ALIVE 5: LAST ROUND (PS4/XONE)

OUT NOW

One of gaming’s finest beat ’em-up franchises is brought to next-gen consoles in fine fashion – with the most graphically striking version yet.

It might only have incremental advancements from the 2012 version, but this 1080P high resolution and 60FPS iteration of the Dead or Alive 5 series is the most polished incarnation yet – with the biggest roster (two new additions bring it to 34) in the series’ history.

This fighting game still continues to be extremely accessible – forgoing the complexities of some arguably more advanced offerings in the genre – but still offers enough depth with oodles of fan service.

A few glitches do hamper the gaming experience across some platforms, but this is without doubt the best game in the franchise to date and – even with the odd flaw – is well worth taking to the last round.
