The lack of any good nudity is as disappointing as the lack of any good jokes, particularly for a movie that is called ‘Sex Tape’, WRITES MIKEY CLARKE.

After the pair collaborated together in the hit comedy Bad Teacher, you’d think a Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel film with a title like this would provide a raunchy comedic recipe – but unfortunately the clunky script didn’t give either actor the chance to make that happen here.

Diaz and Segel play the all too familiar couple, where the raw excitement of the early stages of the relationship has well and truly gone.

So they decide to spice things up a bit by making a sex tape, with disastrous results as it ends up being digitally synced to a number of family, friends and bosses.

The latter half of the movie focuses on their sometimes farcical attempts to wipe the tape from everyone’s possession – but sadly the jokes don’t quite hit the mark in what becomes a long and drawn out affair which struggles to offer anything the enticing title suggests.

Don’t get me wrong, if you’re a fan of Diaz or Segel the movie is still watchable – as they completely commit to their roles and perform with high energy and excitement – and for fans of Rob Lowe, he adds a noteworthy supporting highlight as Diaz’s boss.

But this is undoubtedly a wasted opportunity for a film that had the premise to be a potentially massive hit – and ends up being extremely mediocre at best.

This is one sex tape that should be deleted.
