Royal Mail staff in Spalding are among those who have taken delivery of something valuable – health checks.
For the past 18 months Royal Mail employees have been having blood pressure checks and made aware of the link between high blood pressure and stroke.
The checks are part of the Stroke Association’s Know Your Blood Pressure campaign .
There were celebrations at Royal Mail’s Spalding delivery office when the Stroke Association completed 15,000 blood pressure checks, a milestone in its Charity of the Year partnership with the company.
Local charity Health and Wellbeing coordinators have been visiting Royal Mail sites up and down the county since February 2015 doing checks.
Stroke Association Health and Wellbeing coordinator Jess Rowe said: “Uncontrolled high blood pressure increases your risk of stroke by up to six times. A simple and painless test could prevent a devastating stroke.”
