AT THE SOUTH HOLLAND CENTRE: Duo promise to bring sunshine to Spalding

Without doubt, Morecambe & Wise were one of the greatest comedy double acts Britain has ever seen.

This was not lost on Seabright Productions who this year created Eric & Little Ern, a wonderfully funny homage to the lovable pair.
And don’t actors Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens look just like them?

The show went down so well at the Edinburgh Festival that it hit the BBC News at Ten headlines and has now been snapped up by a West End Theatre for the whole of the Christmas period.

But London can wait because Spalding’s got it first! The newly extended version of the show can be seen here at the South Holland Centre tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7.30pm. Featuring the original Grieg Piano Concerto sketch and Eric’s take on Shakespeare, it’s bound to bring back warm memories.

* It’s a busy time at the Centre with the lead up to Christmas. Having welcomed two capacity audiences for Joe Brown earlier in the month, we are looking forward to another full house for The Band of the Royal Air Force College’s A Night of The Movies this Friday.

This concert is a win-win! Their big band sound raises the hairs on the back of your neck whilst proceeds are donated to the Help for Heroes charity. We are hoping for a return visit in 2014.

* Meanwhile, having recently released tickets for next February’s live satellite screening of The National Theatre’s War Horse, it’s already almost sold out!

Centre manager Sally is currently in talks with The National Theatre to secure a further four encore screenings, so as many of you as possible will be able to see this much-loved production.
