AN Evening of Burlesque has announced its 2011 tour dates so book your tickets for the Broadway Theatre, Peterborough on Friday, February 18.

As latest Hollywood smash Burlesque, starring Christine Aguilera and Cher, enjoyed its London film premiere last week the UK’s only nationally touring burlesque stage show is coming to Peterborough.

An Evening of Burlesque brings the stars of the West End of London’s thriving burlesque scene to the UK, taking in Aberdeen to Bournemouth and all points in between. It’s a show that is described as “tantalising yet tasteful, camp and colourful”.

Show promoter Michael Taylor promises “all tease and no sleaze in a production that marries elegant showgirls, superb vocals, couture costumes, breathtaking choreography and a fabulous score with comedy and magic.”

With corsets, killer heels and stockings aplenty and costumes recalling long-gone-by eras of glamour, the audiences for the production’s glittering performances remain predominantly female.

The show stars -

Compere Kiki Kaboom, a burlesque performer and singer who revels in hilarious audience participation.

Amber Topaz an “incredibly beautiful and likeable, boy can the girl belt out a tune, and dazzle with her moves”.

The divine Chrys Columbine, “not only a fan-dancing figure of sheer elegance, also an exquisite concert pianist”.

An Evening of Burlesque has been described as both “jaw dropping” and “fun and witty. . . beautiful and rather moving” by the British media.
