A NEW generation of Olympic stars may be discovered at Spalding Gymnastic Academy thanks to a £650 cash boost.

It comes from Lincolnshire County Council’s Big Society Fund where members can nominate groups to receive cash towards improving their communities.

The cash will be spent on new soft play equipment for the academy’s Baby Gym group.

Head coach Alec Harding said: “The money is a great help because the younger they are when they join us, the better it is because they get into the system.”

County councillor Graham Dark, who secured the cash, said: “Having been round the academy and seen the opportunities they provide to youngsters, I know this is a very active club.”
