UPTO 40,000 people witnessed the 53rd Spalding Flower Parade on Saturday.

Clear skies and sunshine with a keen breeze graced the day as the floats – with the theme British Icons - wound their way on a two-hour route through the town.

The climax was a free event at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field with people able to see the floats close up and enjoy a concert by tribute band The Upbeat Beatles.

• All the pictures, stories and reaction from the day are in a 12-page souvenir wrap free with Tuesday’s Lincolnshire Free Press.
