With the council already in favour of the sale of the Castle Sports Complex I ask whether a deal has already been arranged for a housing development on the current site.
Deputy council leader Coun Nick Worth states that the main issue is public open space.

It is a shame the council did not think of this while letting developers build new houses in and around the Spalding area taking up most of the green space available several years ago.

Why does the council have to spend vast amounts of taxpayers' money on a new project, when the current one, which is in an ideal location and could be refurbished at a fraction of the cost.

Also, there are local squash, football, rugby and tennis facilities. Will these come under the scrutiny for future redevelopment by the council?
