Readers have continued to send in their nominations for sites in South Holland that are in need of a tidy up.
Last week we launched a campaign to highlight the areas that were in most need of attention in the district and look at the ways they could be cleaned up.

  • Vivienne Scupham responded by nominating the area around the footbridge between Green Lane and St John's Road, Spalding, and said she believes the lack of litter bins contributes to the problem.

She said: "If children are walking to school and have something they need to throw away there isn't anywhere for them to put it so you can see why it does end up on the floor."

  • The football field in Lowgate, Gedney Dyke, was also highlighted by Mrs P Terry for a dog fouling problem caused by overflowing bins.

  • Bonny White contacted us to point out the bottles and beer cans she sees at the junction of Queen's Road and Low Road in Spalding.

She said: "Most mornings on my way to collect my newspaper I pick up items of rubbish but you can't do it all and we have rubbish collectors anyway."
