A cavalcade of colour, boundless energy and all round good fun defined Polka Dot Arts' fabulous adaptation of Fame.
Featuring an eye-catching selection of superbly choreographed and dynamically realised dance routines, the talented teenagers of Limelight Youth Theatre took Spalding's South Holland Centre audience on a breathtaking ride.

The popular musical charts the progress of a group of youngsters at New York's High School for the Performing Arts.

The story shows how the students develop and, through a series of relationships and friendships, touches on a number of issues they face during maturity.

An undoubted highlight was Charlotte Smith's wonderful turn as Serena.

She perfectly portrayed her character's initial shyness and growing frustration at her unrequited love for the swottish Nick, brought to life by Alex Moss' sparkling portrayal.

Smith's Let's Play A Love Scene was spellbinding.

Tearaway Tyrone and wannabe hearthrob Joe were also memorably played by Isak Luyt and Ryan Gilmartin.

The tricky role of troubled Carmen was carried off with aplomb by Lottie Goodacre-Taylor.

These and many other well-rounded characters complemented the energetic dances, which underpinned the whole show.

It peaked with a finale which saw the cast take to the aisles, leaving the audience right in the midst of the excitement.

Don't take my word for it – see the show for yourself.

Tickets cost £10.50 or £9.50 concessions for the show at 7pm at the South Holland Centre, Spalding, today, tomorrow and Saturday.

There is also a matinee performance on Saturday at 2.30pm.
