Schoolchildren across South Holland have been getting active as part of National School Sport Week.
The scheme, which ran from Monday to Friday last week, aims to raise the profile of school sport, celebrate achievements and launch new initiatives.

Spearheaded by Dame Kelly Holmes, this is the first National School Sport Week to be held.

The Lincolnshire South East School Sport Partnership, based at Spalding High School, organised interactive, intra-school multi-skills festivals for year two and four pupils.

The festivals aimed to build on the work already achieved by multi-skill coaches both within and beyond the PE curriculum.

The festivals took place at partner secondary schools St Guthlac School, Crowland, Spalding High School, Spalding Grammar School and the Peele Community College, Long Sutton.

Partnership development manager Lee Farrell said: "The kids really loved competing against each other."

Each festival had eight different stations with different activities on each. Pupils rotated around each, gaining points for standing long jump, running with beanbags, hoop target and tennis ball throw.
