An environmental learning area has been officially opened at Donington Primary School.
The school received a £4,000 grant from the Bicker Wind Trust through Community Foundation Lincs and £1,500 from Boston firm Parkinson Harness Technology.

The school match funded the donations to create a wildlife garden with a pond, bird boxes, hedgehog houses and more.

The garden was officially unveiled by MP for South Holland and the Deepings John Hayes on Monday.

Julie Baxter, PA to the school's headteacher, who helped design the garden, said the children are thrilled with the area.

She added: "They were ecstatic.

"The pond is full and there is already plenty in it. The area is really safe too and is enclosed by a fence.

"It's a lovely area."
