All change at helm of clubs
South Lincolnshire clubs which serve their communities have welcomed new faces at the helm.
n SPALDING Rotary Club outgoing president Rodney Britten handed the chains to John Syson, who steps up from his role as senior vice-president, at the group's meeting at Whaplode Manor.
Club spokesman Peter Atkinson said the group had a great year with Mr Britten as president – the first member in the club's 71-year history since 1937 to serve twice as president.
David Clements is new senior vice-chairman.
Elizabeth Sneath has become the fourth member of her family to take up the presidency of Spalding Inner Wheel.
Her mother Josie Bray was president twice and her grandmother and aunt held the post in the 1950s.
Like her aunt Bette, who was only in her 30s when she became president, Mrs Sneath is the youngest member of the club.
Outgoing president Pam Smith handed over the chain of office to Mrs Sneath at a meal at Welland Yacht Club, Spalding.
Fred Yarwood is the new president of the Rotary Club of Holbeach.
Mr Yarwood received the chain of office from outgoing president Sue Scorthorne at a meeting at The Chequers Hotel in Holbeach.
New senior vice-president is Lesley Fisher and new junior vice-president is Helen Scott.
Rotarian Graham Scorthorne said: "Incoming president Fred plans to do much to support children's cancer charities and Sailability, which offers sailing for people with disabilities."
The Rotary Club of Holbeach will be offering a lot of support this year to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Rotary Club of The Deepings' new president is Gary Bentley.
Outgoing president Carl Midgley thanked members for their support and hard work throughout the year.
New senior vice-president is Geoff Card and junior vice-president is Ricky Fox.
