Thought for the week: Many are still persecuted for their faith
This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, the official birthday of the Christian church, when Jesus Christ kept his promise to his chosen Apostles and sent the Holy Spirit upon them to confirm their faith. They described it as a sound of a rushing wind and the vision of tongues of fire which appeared to settle over their heads.

I listened to the deliberations at the meeting on April 17 with disbelief at your dismissive attitude to the objections of the proposed development.
Environment
I notice that Lincolnshire highways has commenced its annual onslaught of the flora and fauna to be found in the many miles of roadside verges throughout the county. There are twice as many miles of grass verge as there is highway tarmac.
Election
Firstly, to a wonderful group of people who turned out to help me put leaflets through letter boxes, sore fingers and blistered feet prove it really is a large area to cover.
Thieves target satellite receivers at farms
A spate of thefts across South Holland involving satellite receivers normally fitted to tractors are being investigated by police.
COUNTY COUNCIL: Retirement
On my retirement from the council I thank Spalding Elloe residents for their support for the past eight years.

HISTORY: Researching Spalding’s Home Guard
I am researching the history of the Home Guard in Spalding during World War Two, particularly a secret unit within it known as the Auxiliaries, who would have gone underground in the event of a German invasion.
FUNDRAISER: Your help gives local kids great opportunities
On Friday, April 19 we held an evening of clairvoyance and holistic therapies at the Spalding Services Club to raise money for our local Scout groups.An amazing night raised £380 to help local children attend the Scouts Poacher Camp later this year.
