Volunteers step in to save youth club

A desperate plea by Moulton Chapel Youth Club for more volunteers to save it from closure has had a positive response – thanks to the Spalding Guardian.

Committee members appealed through our newspaper last month that unless more people came forward to help out on Friday nights at Moulton Chapel Youth and Community Centre, the club would close after almost 70 years.

But three new volunteers have come on board to help supervise youngsters in activities, including indoor sports, arts and craft at the Woodgate Road centre.

As many as 20 youngsters aged between 11 and 16 attend the club which would have closed for good at Christmas due to a lack of volunteers and committee members are now hoping that more youngsters will come along between 7pm to 9.30pm on Fridays during the school term.
