Top marks earn prize for accountant Adam
Canon Williamson, Spalding Adam Reece qualified as chartered accountant and won the John Ross Sergant memorial award
FOR newly qualified accountant Adam Reece receiving the John Ross Sergeant Memorial Prize was “the icing on the cake”.
Adam is congratulating himself not only on having qualified, but on having a job, unlike many new graduates. The 22-year-old, who lives in High Street, Spalding, left school at 16 and began a three-year accountancy apprenticeship followed by three years spent studying for his degree while working for chartered accountancy firm Cannon Williamson, based in Pinchbeck Road in the town.
Adam has been told he is the winner for 2011 of the John Ross Sergeant Memorial Prize, awarded annually to the student achieving the highest marks in their final examinations in the previous year.
Adam said: “It is such an honour. To get qualified is fantastic but the prize is the icing on the cake. I am so grateful to friends and family and my employers for putting me through it.”
