Sutton Bridge marina delay

Councillors in Sutton Bridge are waiting for work to start on a controversial pleasure marina project.

Lincolnshire County Council, which is overseeing the scheme, is still sorting out a land ownership issue before proceeding.

The parish council says if the project is dropped, all Section 106 money given from the power station fund should go back to the village. The council also wants to regain power station money given to the Snowgoose lighthouse project if that fails to go ahead.

Money in the fund will revert to the power station if it is not spent by 2015.

• The marina was to have been ready before Christmas but a land ownership issue surfaced last year. The county council has not revealed details of the problem.
