Kids can design their own flower parade float!

Youngsters are again being given the chance to have their drawing turned into a fantastic-tulip-covered creation at the 2013 Spalding Flower Parade.

For the second year running the Spalding Guardian has teamed up with parade organisers Kenyon Communications to pick a design for the People’s Float.

Individuals and schools are welcome to take part, with the only stipulation being you must be aged 12 and under.

The theme for 2013 is ‘Let’s Celebrate’ and that is exactly what we would like you to do in your artwork.

Think of a fabulous event to celebrate and get to work with your crayons, pencils or paints to draw your exciting float design.

Let your imagination run away with you and you could win the opportunity to work with designer Debbie Lishman to come up with your very own float design.

The winner and five runners up will also be able to play an integral part of the parade and take their position on the finished float on May 4.

Families are also invited to come along to the heading sheds and help pin the tulips on the winning float the week prior to the parade.

Send your designs to Flower Parade Float Competition, Spalding Guardian, Priory House, The Crescent, Spalding PE11 1AB.

Entries must be with us by December 28.
