Grant for public garden

Sutton Bridge in Bloom group aims to create a public garden in the grounds of The Curlew Centre on Bridge Road.

The parish council on Tuesday agreed to give £500 towards the project.

The Bloom group applied for the money to help towards the design, build and maintenance of the garden.

• The parish council has also agreed to give £375 to the new village youth club for equipment including a four in one games table, an Xbox system and FIFA game. Councillors are also trying to trace equipment used by the former club.
