Furry friends help to boost funds
Fun Dog Show 19/02/12 West Pinchbeck Village Hall Emma Fathers with her french bulldog Nancy.
A DOG show has raised £285 to help abandoned and orphaned pets.
The event at West Pinchbeck Village Hall raised money for the Designer Dog Rescue Fund, which in turn donated the proceedings to Many Tears Animal Rescue.
Around 150 dogs took part in the show, across 16 categories. A winner was selected from the best of each category.
Ann Fathers, joint organiser, said: “We made a lot of money through a raffle, the show and bric-a-brac.
“It was a very good turn out, very well attended and very well supported.
“We even had people from Colchester, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire attend.”
Despite many of those who attended being pedigree breeders, Designer Dog Rescue Fund deals with mostly cross-bred dogs.
It was set up to provide funding to foster centres.
The Best in Show was awarded to a Dachshund, whose owner won a £20 voucher from sponsors Rooke’s and a bottle of sparkling wine.
