Musicians from The Gleed School of Music and Art, directed by George Ragsdell, gave their first public performance at Springfields Exhibition Centre during a Christmas Craft Festival, before lining up for a photo-call for these newspapers.

Springfields general manager Peter Atkinson said 1,750 people visited the centre in Spalding during the two-day festival, during which a Saxon village was recreated featuring a family demonstrating corn-crafts, weaving, tapestry and other ancient crafts. Spalding branch of the Royal British Legion junior and senior bands performed.
