WEATHER cold enough to make anyone fluff out their feathers didn’t deter 40 fanciers from turning out to Long Sutton to show off their amazing pigeons on Saturday.

It was the town’s turn to host the King’s Lynn Fur and Feather Society Show, the only event of its kind in Lincolnshire and Norfolk.

More than 350 fancy pigeons were brought from as far away as Essex and Derbyshire to strut their stuff, including Tipplers, Tumblers, Pouters and Fantails.

Show organiser John Elsdon, from Long Sutton, is a long-term member of the society after breeding fancy pigeons for 60 years.

He said: “I couldn’t believe that so many people came on Saturday and from so far away. It was a fantastic turnout!”
